James A. Jones, CPA

James (Jim) Jones has 33 years of combined experience in public accounting and as an examiner for the Internal Revenue Service. Jim has been a partner in national and local CPA firms, as well as serving as managing partner of his own firm prior to joining DeLap White Caldwell & Croy, LLP.

His primary experience is in serving closely-held businesses, which includes auto dealerships, manufacturing, retailing, agriculture, and professional corporations. His experience involves extensive tax planning, business planning, business succession, and complex estate planning.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, Portland Estate Planning Council, Oregon Automobile Dealers Association, Oregon Independent Auto Dealers Association, Dealer/CPA Resource Group and the Oregon Association of Nurserymen. Jim is also a member of the X9C Working Group, drafting the standards for motor vehicle retail sales and lease, electronic contracting, for the American National Standards Institute.

Jim is a graduate from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Science degree. He is a native Oregonian and lives with his wife in Tualatin. They have three married children.
